El Josco Awards Winners 2024

The Puerto Rican Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida (PRCCCF) recently hosted a memorable gala at the Caribe Royale Resort, where nearly 500 business leaders and community influencers gathered. The event celebrated the entrepreneurial accomplishments and recognized the invaluable contributions of notable Hispanic and Puerto Rican individuals through the prestigious El Josco Awards.

 

This year's gala continued its upward trend in attendee numbers and sponsor engagement. The evening it featured a refined atmosphere, lively tropical-themed decor, premium entertainment, and the highly anticipated announcement of the El Josco Awards honorees.

The 2024 El Josco Award recipients include:

 

  • Communications: Jennifer Marcial - Orlando Economic Partnership

  • Education: Susanne Peña - Professor, Florida International University

  • Health: Dr. Arnaldo E. Vélez, MD - Vascular Neurology, Orlando Health

  • Community Service: Norberto Fonseca - Advance Community Outreach Center

  • Entrepreneurship: Florencio Rodríguez - Founder, Don Julio Restaurant Group

  • Professional of the Year: Janice Lopez - Vice President, Sr. Business Consultant, JP Morgan Chase

  • Small Business of the Year: Veronica Luna & Raul Ramirez - Learning Tree PPEC

  • Women-Owned Business of the Year: Maelyn Arroyo - License Pro

  • Lifetime Achievement Award: Dr. Antonia Novello MD, MPH, DR.PH

 

PRCCCF President Jorge H. Figueroa emphasized the Chamber's 27-year tradition of championing small businesses in Central Florida. This helps cultivate a dynamic economic environment that supports entrepreneurs and prepares the next generation for success. The event also joyfully kicked off Hispanic Heritage Month.

 

Violinist Victoria Schultz, Batucada Borincana, and Metro Latino Band provided entertainment for the evening. The Masters of Ceremony were Hazel Ortiz, host of Univision's Contigo, and actor/entrepreneur Osvaldo Friger.

 

The El Josco Awards Gala's success was made possible through the generous contributions of sponsors, including Orlando Health, JetBlue, Osceola County, AllState Benefits, Wellcare, CDW, Kiosko 38, NUC University, Univision, Osceola Star, La Prensa, KQ 95.7, Green Squad, Valens Services, Con Gusto, and Campoverde.
